The first is a lacklustre script
I always knew, that with a different director, and a different setting and storyline and whatnot, the third film of the franchise would be unique.This film had three problems for me. I failed to connect with the film, and a poor script was the reason to this.The charm of the franchise, which was always noticeable and used in the first two, is irrelevant.
There are some beautiful sequences that will catch your breath awayA 79/10 for me
And due to the wholesome feeling you don't feel, the lack of charm, it kills the film entirely.The third problem is the lack of character development, the way characters were developed in the first and second film are brilliant, and outstanding, and though it is difficult to do it with this film, it was nevertheless poor.The second film was the best, from Hugh Grant's excellent acting, to good foreshadowing and character development, this film is nowhere near those levels.Sally Hawkins is not in this film, and she is a great loss, although Emily Mortimer does well with the role with what she has, she is greatly missed, and could've made this film better.This film has some superb moments, from the iconic stare, to the plot twist, I would say, this has its good moments, I am picking bad parts from this film, nevertheless, it is decent. If you follow the franchise, and seen the first two, this is different and unique, but good to watch.
