The incident with Valya Harkonnen using the voice is taken from an incident called “Mentats from Dune”. The three books interweave the development of the Brotherhood, the Mentats, the Navigators and the Sook Doctors. I don’t want to criticize only the first episode of a TV series, but it was just average. The acting was below average except for some big name actors like Mark Strong, Emily Watson, Olivia Williams and maybe Travis Fimmel.
The story was very loose and the dialogues were not dune worthy
The rest of the cast looked like they were fresh out of film academy or something. I like slow dramas that take forever to build up because I know the payoff is worth the wait. But it wasn’t just slow, a lot happened, but it was just boring, I don’t know how else to put it. The soundtrack that roamed the movies was a bit copied here, with familiar sounds popping up here and there, but the timing just wasn’t right.
My question is: did he enjoy doing it at all?
It’s like I heard a lot of music here that had no effect. I remember how much time we spend in movies with people talking and then boom, Hans Zimmer does his magic and I’m so excited. But I know he had no part in creating the sounds here and I don’t even need to check. I’m not sure if Denis Villeneuve was involved in this production, I hope not.
Something to think about
Would an average series like this after two epic films have any effect on the highly anticipated third film? The reason I wonder is because The Penguin was so good, it made me appreciate Batman even more than I did after seeing it, and I can’t wait to see him in the second movie. So what impact, if any, will Dune: Prophecy have on the third film?
