Data Room Watermarking and Other Security Features
As more companies use virtual data rooms for M&A or fundraising as well as other business financial transactions They require additional security features to protect their data from tampering, theft, and leaks. One of the most useful tools available is data room watermarking. This feature trace unauthorized replications back to the source by using invisible markers that make it extremely difficult to manipulate or delete without altering the original file.
A few different methods are used for watermarking data in the digital world by encryption of the watermark prior to embedding it in the image, and “nesting” the watermark, which makes the embedded data more difficult to extract. This technique is employed by Closd to safeguard the data of our users and to help prevent unauthorized access to sensitive files.
In addition, to protect the personal information of our users, we employ document watermarking to enhance security for Q&A attachments which can be particularly sensitive in certain circumstances. This feature automatically numbers the questions in the section of questions and answers of the document, making it easier to reference them later during an audit.
Other document-related security features are also available to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, such as redaction which allows you to quickly and effortlessly remove (black out) images, text and certain areas of documents to ensure that they are not exposed to personal information and critical business information. This feature is especially useful for documents that contain sensitive information, such as the Q&A section in a document. It can be applied to all types of files.
